I accidentally enrolled in a kpop course

. I mean I shouldn't be complaining because all I did for the first lecture was watch TVXQ but now I'm curious what other people are enrolled in

I thought it was a Korean Culture course lol

It turns out my university offers a rich catalogue of courses and now I'm enrolled in a Hallyu Wave class. My next assignment is watching Winter Sonata.

Wait what course are enrolled in? My uni doesn't even offer any courses like that. As far as international studies go, I think we literally only have different languages...

And I'm taking advanced topics in biomedicine, practical skills in biomedicine and medical microbiology. Luckily micro is 30 credit points so I don't have to take a fourth subject. I'm already suffering as is.

Woah is that considered an actual class that will be credited towards your transcript? I'm so jealous. Consider yourself lucky!

It's called KOR 120 - NEW KOREAN WAVE and yes I am getting credit for it. My university has a blossoming Korean studies department (because my peers were advocating for more Asian studies courses) so I'm guessing that's where the course came from.

My uni is run by elitists who won't ever dare to have such departments. They literally only promote the science & biomedical departments and ignore every other department like the plague. I didn't even know we had a department for music until I walked past it by accident once lol. But like I said, the most international we get is the diploma in languages.

To be honest my uni will only cares if the department is producing research and the Asian Studies department had a big name -> got student's interest

They're obsessed with their rankings on the top universities around the world list and our science/biomedical departments are ranked the highest so they're really proud of it. Like the first thing you see once you click on the uni's webpage is their rankings and how each department places in the country and world.
