Any fans of this BBC show?

I've always wanted to give this a try but was afraid it was too cheesy and kid friendly.

I'm a big fan of Anthony Head cause of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and he plays King Pendragon on this series.

Can anyone reccomend it? My favorite show of all time is Buffy. Would I like Merlin?

I loved it
Except season 5, they decided to make it a comedy show then I guess
I haven't seen the other show you talked about though so I can't say much about how it is compared to them, plus I watched it a fairly long time ago (I think I was 15 or 16?). But I still recommend trying it out.

I watched it back when it aired and loved it, and I rewatched it within the past 12 months and still loved it. Even if the only reason I still enjoyed it now is bc of nostalgia, I still think it's still enjoyable for older audiences. It's a little bit like Doctor Who in a sense that it's appropriate and enjoyable for younger audiences but it's still massively enjoyable for older generations as well despite being on the more innocent end of the spectrum. I think there are some episodes that are a bit more childish than others ig but there are more serious episodes as well. There was an episode or two that I skipped while rewatching with like goblins or something because those episodes had very gross kinda humor and they were filler episodes anyway so I didn't have to sit through it to still understand the plot but other than that i'd say it's all pretty enjoyable for all audiences.

I never watched Merlin, but Anthony Head is indeed a legend!
And BtVS is probably my all time favorite TV series too!

This show is definitely right up my alley. I already love the dynamic between Arthur and Merlin.

But I'm confused on Morgana. Is she Uthers daughter? If so then that would make her Arthur sister. But they seemed awfully flirty in these first two episodes.

I'm guessing you're not familiar with the original King Aurthur stories? In the show it's actually better because Morgana isn't Ushers by blood, he adopted her when her father, who was Ushers friend, died in battle and Usher took her in as his ward. Morganas mother wasn't around so she was left with no one. In the actual old stories I'm pretty sure there was some incest going on though

Yeah my Arthur legend knowledge comes mostly from Disney's Sword in the Stone lol.

I'm now 8 episodes in. It just gets better and better.

I'm sure Lancelot returns eventually. He was awesome. What season does he come back?

So damn good. I will start season 2 tomorrow. So far my favorite character is Arthur. I'm actually a big fan of these standalone episodes. I read that the rest of the show is more serialized. I like that too though.

I did find it kind of funny though how magic is banned on penalty of death yet almost every episode deals with a Scorrser coming to town and doing magic under the Kings nose lol. They need to do a better job at screening the visitors they let into the kingdom.

I'm ready for more adventures!

Yay i'm glad! Yeah I noticed that too lmao it's really ironic given the circumstances that the magic people just keep comin' despite it being a lot more dangerous than just keeping it lowkey in a village or in the woods or smth, if I think about it a lot tho it can kinda make sense and at the same time it still kinda doesn't but hey it's a fantasy world, not everything needs to be explainable ig

There was one time that a door was locked, when the sorceress switched the goblets. Idk why they don't use locks more often though

Agreed. So far shes the hottest girl who's appeared on the show.

I just finished season 3. Most epic season yet!

It was good. Ofc it does turned like most show that air for too long lol

I hope that's not true. I'm really enjoying this show so far.
