I get responses on here more than I do on Discord.
Literally every Discord I join it's either no one talks or everyone is already buddy, buddy.
Quite frankly it's annoying. :)

I'm sorry if you feel that way It's really hard to put yourself out there, especially when everyone is already friends, but I've found that sticking around does help a lot ^^ At first you feel ignored but as time goes on, other people feel more comforable with you there and are more ready to talk. If you feel terrible when using it though, don't force yourself to. It's your choice after all.

i joined the kpopsource discord and left within a week cause had no idea what was going on xD

I can never find a good timing to join in with a convo etc, so like a 10 ppl server is the biggest I will be in any way active in.

same here- i like it as a platform, but it's not the best for making new friends. sticking it out in well established servers just makes you feel really awkward because you're still not going to be as close with most people. a lot of bigger ones tend to be cliquey too but idk...

I mainly use discord to talk to my twitter friends that I've been close with, I don't really join actual servers anymore because they are pretty cliquey and not really welcoming to new members. I don't think it's the best place to make new friends either

Yeah smaller servers are always ironically wayy more active than bigger servers. Not only do you feel more comfortable posting and joining conversations but everyone else usually does too

But with small servers you HAVE to have joined when the server first gets made.
Bcs small servers are a lot closer and tend to have more fleshed out inside jokes etc

I've only ever made one friend off of discord and that is bcs on a server I literally only was on once and made an introduction on... another estonian girl noticed I am also Estonian so she friended me and we ended up talking.

I find it hard when joining servers too unless its a server with only my friends that was made for that purpose. I've tried to join others but it never seems to work out, there was one that it did though but thats because everyone there talked to everyone and it's definitely an exception.

I get it, it's sometimes really hard to put yourself out there, especially when you're new and in the servers there's a distinguishable clique. it's hard to insert yourself in the clique or just start up a side conversation because people talk so much your attempts are just buried in the channel, I really do get that. dead servers are also the absolute worst, but I try and revive them even if I have zero idea what's going on. I'm really sorry you feel that way, it sucks and I know that feeling. <3

Same, there were people I’ve talked to one on one before but eventually stopped talking to. Servers make me feel awkward since I always join late and don’t have a lot to say lol. The only server I was active on is a Minecraft server with my classmates and nobody wants to play anymore
