Appreciation AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day Deserves It's 'Masterpiece' Status (2 Viewers)

So I just finished watching AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day yesterday and HAD to write out my thoughts on the series. I'm listening to the ending theme whilst writing this.
Alright guys listen, this rarely ever happens but this anime has essentially surged to the top of my favorite anime of all time. Normally, I would not binge a series of any kind unless I personally found it really good.
Everything about AnoHana was done well. From the plot to the characters to the animation to the soundtrack. There was nothing about the anime I did not like. I ugly cried during the last episode. It was so sad. I honestly felt like I made a personal bond with each of the characters in the series, even Jintan's mom!

Ugh everyone really needs to watch this show! I highly recommend. It's available on Netflix and Crunchyroll!

I think just the whole theme of childhood friends growing apart and then Menma coming back to remind them of what matters and bring them back together is beautiful and heart warming :)

It is an anime that needs a lot of suspension of disbelief

But I liked it mostly because the direction is very good.

It was special for them because they had disbanded in 2005 and reunited in 2011 (the year Anohana was released) to sing that song again, with one less member

I didn't watch it that long ago and I liked it quite much. I kinda liked how all of them had issues, even the ones who first seemed okay like Yukiatsu and even Tsuruko. That scene where they chased Menma in the forest to find out it was Yukiatsu cosplaying was one of biggest wtf moments and left me with mixed emotions. It was pitiful, bit creepy and really sad. I ended up giving Anohana 9 out of 10.

It was obvious quite quickly, his build is way different. I felt rly bad for him, pretty much pity.
