News Radio station makes disrespectful remarks on Lay and NCT127 (1 Viewer)

So a radio show called KiddNation played Just Shut Up and Dance and said that Lay and NCT127 were BTS.
When they noticed it wasn't BTS, they said "so it was just some random Asian guys?"
This of course angered fans and found it disrespectful so they trended #KISSFM_APOLOGIZE

And then the radio station came out with an apology which makes it way worse:

First of all: the artists are in the song name.
Second: you are a radio anchor, do your research properly.
Third: they are "still learning" about kpop but they only know BTS which means they don't know a thing about kpop at all
Fourth: the last paragraph is just plain disgusting and clearly sarcastic thus a final blow to fans​

I would have forgave them. I've stanned BTS for a long time, that doesn't really bother me when people assume kpop to be BTS or everyone to be BTS, they'll learn soon enough lol, that kpop isn't just BTS

but that apology was uncalled for. no need to be sarcastic and disgusting like that, they should have handled it professionally. and why would you compare kpop artists to pop artists? to be honest, kpop is becoming bigger and bigger, might even take over pop. that was rude and very disgusting. NCT hits more than 5 mill in 24 hours and are seen as nugu's

I personally don't think they are required to know who they are, they did mistake of referring them as BTS, but I think i get more on radio stations side, kpop is not as much in their territory than us pop is and mistakes like mistaking another kpop group for BTS is bound to happen and they could have just thanked for correction and say they will get it right next time.

And the thing about Justin, Arianna and Taylor.. it's kinda true i guess, but it's still bit US centric view, there are lot of people in the world that know them better than those three.

Yeah, plenty of people assume or mistake Asian men (lumping Korean and Chinese together for the sake of this explanation, since that is how the anchor saw it) that are performing like this as BTS, if they don't know about Kpop or anything of the like, which is understandable.

But yeah....the way the approached it, even after the fact in the apology and then went on in tweets to basically negate their apology (not for calling them BTS, but for the other words they had to say) and act as if these artists NEED Jason Derulo for exposure and revenue etc is...well...absurd. They may not be aware who these artists are, but, a quick check online will help them learn before opening their mouths.

People (especially those representing a company on social media) should really take a few minutes to do some quick research on the topic they are speaking. It would save a lot of grief in the end.
