Mount Washington is a small mountain in New Hampshire in the US. It's the biggest mountain in the Northeastern US but it only stands at about 6000 feet, compared to the 20,000 feet for the US's largest mountain or the almost 30,000 for Mount Everest. Despite the small size, the highest recorded surface wind speed was recorded there until 2009, beating out hurricanes and the like. To this day, the mountain holds the record for the US, northern hemisphere, and western hemispheres strongest surface wind, despite being such a small mountain. I thought that was pretty cool
