The context being this is one of SM's writers pulling a Scorched Earth on her entire career and leaking a bunch of shit, doesnt really matter.
But she leaked a lot of requests that she received from other companies and the inspirations they wanted her to use.

JYP is the only one that puts limits on what she can do

I dunno, at this point I'm really tired of JYP holding Twice back. The cheese ball songs and ridiculous lyrics (I'm a stray cat for you). Not letting them do the concepts they want.

yes, he is. even their most "mature" concepts aren't straying too far from what they usually do.

I thought that more and more would be different but I still get the same vibe that I do from a lot of their other cute songs. there's nothing wrong with cute concepts but cmon, I want to see a total 180 on what twice usually does.

they're grown women.... jyp should not be holding them back as much as he does when it comes to doing more mature concepts.

About Twice, JYP won't risk his best investment with a radical change that may upset the bigger portion of their fanbase and it's understandable. Tbh, I don't think the direction they've taken is bad at all, I did enjoy their last album.

As someone who had gone through jyp era of wonder girls, 2pm and 2am, it’s just not the same with twice and stray kids.
I feel like he is holding them back. Stray kids is basically nugu in korea, and itzy doesn’t have a strong fan base either- their songs are popular with the public, but individually as a group they don’t have fans/fandom. Day6 is neutral, (their songs are amazing, and they have some presence compared to stray kids.)
As for twice they started out strong... and i actually don’t mind their cute concepts, I actually like em. So what’s the problem? They can’t sing. Like for real I agree with the knetz. I even watched their Pre debut show sixteen. And they had so much potential. And yet even after all these years they haven’t approved, which is holding jyp back. Ofc there’s internal issues too, like Mina and her disorder, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to improve the other members. I’m not saying Mina is holding them back. Jyp is. He can’t even bother to coach and train the girls? Like yea they’re pretty and they can dance, but what’s the fucking point. Of being a singer if you can’t sing? I feel like jyp is taking advantage of the large male fandom in korea that just like twice because of their looks rather than talent.

I think they have improved, just not significantly and definitely not to the standard that people seem to have for them.

They have been open about wanting to improve as singers and they do have coaches but the coaches themselves are pretty terrible, if they even have time for them. JYP is not a company that cares about technical singing like SM, they prefer style and JYP seems to like hoarse screaming. Not a defense istg, look at Itzy and WG

Twice a group full of average to weak singers and their shortcomings are magnified because they sing in an uncomfortable key that they have to strain for and cutesy tones. I wouldn't go as far as saying they can't sing, they just don't have an outstanding vocal

This. It’s because they are his best investment and he doesn’t want to change their concept too radically for now. And I agree about their last comeback.

Idk, not too mature seems to be fine with me. You don't wanna suddenly drop a super mature concept and feel disjointed and alienate the current fandom. Transitioning slowly is probably best. I have no doubt we'll get more mature concepts later but you need this current era first to get there.

I don't think Twice is being held back, they've hit their peak and are stable now. Every group achieves growth and then hits their peak and remains stable or declines. In Twice's case, the growth slope was steep af due to how quick their rise was, now they need to ride out this stability as long as they can.
