What happens when English speakers get questionable lines in kpop songs? Do they ever tell their company that they'll get laughed at and try to get it changed? Do they suck it up and cry internally? Do they say screw it it's kpop at least I'm not talking about touching myself like that tvxq member? :jisoosmh:

So many questions
Have y'all heard popular English songs which were big hits from 50-60 yrs ago? Or even from the 80s/90s like A-Ha's take on me(maybe not the best example, but its the only song i can think of rn at 4am here).

Native English songs have always spanned the gamut from sublime to juyt as bad/no-meaning as Badarum Badarum. Its the catchiness n the resonates with the listener tats key, i think iv heard some calypso music/songs from the 1920s (or whenever they came out, maybe the 30s or 50s that also had meaningless {to me anyway} lyrics/giberrish words.) Same thing the music n whole song resonates. I think but not sure if ABBA had some songs with no-meaning lyrics, Example, Obladi-Oblada lyrics by Beatles, (but the words were made uo by non-native English speaker, i think n inspired/written into song by Paul McCartney: said by some to be amongst greatest lyricist/songwriters in English if not the world).
So i think its perfectly normal for kpop to hv the kinda English lyrics that it has. If the songwriters who wrote kpop wrote it for english market, it might be different{who wrote Jopping?} ; but from the credits-i dont recognise many writers who write for western/english pop market(unless they wrote for kpop b4 they hit it big in western music like i think jessi j did.) [Wendy herself might hv heard all sorts of pop songs with meaningless/questionable lyrics while in canada/america so she might just let it be]

I think it depends on the line tbh. Some things like the ones in Rookie are more stylistc choices. Then there are the ones like Xia's Intoxication which doens't even need an explaination
