I'll make a short review about NEO JAPONISM's 2nd album for you
1. WORLD END STARRY NIGHT
so we start the album with a new version of WORLD END STARRY NIGHT. I think that new vocals are really fitting the song!
I have to say that Miyu is leading the whole song and it really adds something to the original version.
I wasn't that much a fan of it when the original line-up released it honestly but this new recording made me like more it!
2. Kikoenai Uta
if I am comparing that song to the one first line-up released, I can hear many differences, mostly because of Miyu and Hinano.
New vocals are bringing here a more powerful atmosphere to the entire song.
3. Yuru Yura Oyashiro Girl
I couldn't even imagine how this song could sound better! It is so good!!!!!
I EVEN PREFER THIS VERSION HONESTLY
Especially because of Miyu starting the song!
4. Yumegiwa no Parallel
JUST ONE WORD, THIS VERSION IS AWESOME!!!!
5. Wakusei Utopia
so we have finally a studio version of Wakusei Utopia...
we had a remix version of it on Spotify sang by the original line-up but it wasn't that convincing...
the result here isn't that messy but I can't say I love it either...
btw the new line-up never performed it on live yet, maybe when they'll I'll find that song more enjoyable
6. Connect -Hello World-
... my first impression was pretty good about this new version, as we have never had it as a studio version before.
but I feel like sometimes when you are too used to the original version, you could just not enjoy it that much.
They did some readjustments here compared to the first line-up version and I have to say that the result is good!
not like what they did to Loser and Genwaku, the result wasn't convincing me at all...
7. Disconnect-Goodbye World-
I LOVE THIS VERSION TOO!!!! HONESTLY BOTH CONNECT AND DISCONNECT ARE WELL DONE!
both versions are matching each other pretty well here, especially if you listen to Connect just before Disconnect.
8. STARLIGHT-TRAIN
I couldn't listen to this song that much honestly, so it was like it was a new song to me.
I guess it was performed only once by the original line-up... It was supposed to be released shortly after that but as you know they disbanded.
Maybe it will grow on me later eventually, who knows.
overall rating: 6.5/10
