Wait why is everyone against this? I don't follow her too closely but Selena Gomez seems like a really sweet girl... And isn't she like one of the least problematic singers out there? She's also one of the most successful female solos in the US so why is this a losing situation for BP? They'll get huge amount of attention from Selena's millions of fans + the American media will be all over this + they'll get lots of radio play.

Im not a blink or any kind of fan of ari or selena, the big deal is if selpink is true; yg did the usual no-comment /no-statement/no-denial when aripink was speculated, giving hope to many. If Selpink was confirmed early enuf, maybe they wouldnt get hopes up 4 aripink. (Detectives finding clues out of nowhere dint help ofc.) Is selena from hsm? I watched tat yrs ago, kinda enjoyed the 1st one tho im not a teen by then, far from it.

So, It could also be tat many blinks think ari is hot now, while they think selena is way past it. Just imo.
Yg could hv avoided this drama if selpink is real by denying aripink early on. Ill just wait n see.

Selena is fine as a person but she's one of the most medicore artists out there and to this day, I'll never understand her appeal. And this is from someone who was OBSEESED with her growing up.

Aside from a few songs, her work is both sonically and lyrically unremarkable. It largely sounds the same, it's boring. Even setting aside vocal tone and capabilities, she's way too different from Blackpink. She's largely reserved and kinda plain.

Ariana is a better artists and she just fits on all fronts. A collab between her and BP.just seems like the natural thing, in fact a lot of blinks are Ari fans anyway. Not only were we gonna get her, but her producers as well. Even if it was a feature, which meant It'd be different like Sour Candy instead of what we'd been getting (and a guaranteed top 10 entry)

Now we're either stuck Selena and her producers or Teddy
And Teddy well...

I'm sorry but Blinks aren't in the position to criticize Selena's artistry when BP themselves are more active as influencers than singers. That being said, I don't think Selena is that bad considering how many people follow her but I agree, Ariana would have been better.
