On July 27 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded the introduction films for ‘TREASURE’ members including CHOI HYUN SUK·JIHOON·YOSHI·JUNKYU·MASHIHO·YOON JAE HYUK·ASAHI·BANG YE DAM·DOYOUNG·HARUTO·PARK JEONG WOO·SO JUNG HWAN.
In addition to the heartbeat sounds, the keyhole of a treasure box was zoomed in, closing up on each member as they slowly raised their heads. The members presented a dominant mood through their rookie spirits and relaxed look as they stared at the camera with their chic yet fierce looking eyes.
The introduction film was the visual version of TREASURE’s concept teaser clip, revealed on the 20th. The video connected TREASURE’s identity with innovational incidents which contributed to the growth of mankind and grabbed the attention with TREASURE’s will targeting the global market in addition its sophisticated visuals.
The catchy background music of the concept teaser clip which grabbed the viewers’ attention was also utilized in the introduction film. CHOI HYUN SUK has participated in the production of the music himself. Through TREASURE’s official TREASURE account, CHOI HYUN SUK stated that it was an “honor’ and that “I was nervous but did my best thinking about our fans”.

TREASURE, who will make debut on August 7, is a boy group formed through the survival program ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ aired from November 2018 until January 2019. They are a rookie group being presented by YG in approximately 4 years since BLACKPINK and are receiving global attention as they are the first 12-member big scale group formed in YG.
As the group has been preparing for their debut by communicating with the fans through their own contents from early on this year, TREASURE’s YouTube channel has approximately 1.3M subscribers and a total of over 100M accumulated views. YG Entertainment (hereby YG) uploaded TREASURE’s first single album main poster on July 29 at 9 AM, through their official blog. The 12 members stared at the camera with their fierce eyes and charismatic looks as they showed off their trendy stylings and energetic charms.
Their debut single album is titled ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’. It is a direct title which refers to TREASURE’s ‘first step’. It makes the people look forward to TREASURE’s beginning and their upcoming stories.
On the concept teaser clip previously revealed to show TREASURE’s world, the group expressed their strong will through narrations that stated, ‘There are discoveries to be made in everyday life’ and ‘This one step will change everything’.

On July 30 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment revealed a track list poster unveiling the titles and credits of TREASURE’s first single album, ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’, raising anticipation on the group’s upcoming debut.
According to the track list, ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ is composed of 2 tracks including the title song ‘BOY’ and ‘COME TO ME’. The instrumental versions of the two tracks were also included, exclusively on physical copies.
The full support by in-house producers of YG also grabbed the people’s attention. In addition to producer R.Tee from The Black Label, talented producers such as Se.A, CHOICE37, HAE participated in the title song, ‘BOY’. The song ‘COME TO ME’ was produced by ROVIN, while Kim Kyung and BIGTONE participated in writing the lyrics of the song.

On July 31, YG Entertainment(hereby YG) revealed that “TREASURE’s first single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ pre-orders have surpassed a total of 100 thousand”.
The figure was reached in 2 days since they began taking pre-orders on the 29th. It is also the highest figure among all rookie artists in YG history, which proves the global fans’ heated interest towards TREASURE.
After an interim count, a big portion of the sales were made in Japan, which grabbed the people’s attention. It is said that the local favorability in Japan is high since TREASURE has 4 members who are from Japan.

Exceeding 100K for a debut is pretty great right?

From what I remember they are on par with Winner and iKON but that's compared to the total after debut. I don't remember what Winner and iKON's pre-order numbers were because I didn't pay attention to sales back then. YG boy groups usually debut big. Hopefully, Treasure can maintain or increase interest with subsequent comebacks.
