Rumor Singer of the Cupid Shuffle is to sue Seventeen (1 Viewer)

So, apparently this artist named “Cupid” wants to take legal action against Seventeen for plagiarism. He thinks that Seventeen’s Left & Right plagiarized his song called “Cupid Shuffle”.


I listened to his explanation and viewed his proof where he thought they plagiarized, but it doesn’t sound the same at all, and even the lyrics are different except the usage of the words “left” and “right”.

Also, the beat is different than the SVT track as are the instruments used, and there are ZERO overlapping lyrics besides using the words "left" and "right".

He has no case.

You must be hard of hearing because it's not even the same sounds, lol. No court would find in his favor and despite his tweets, he hasn't filed anything. He's likely just trying to get his 5 seconds out of them.

I work in music, I've studied and performed since I was a child. Try again.
There is a legal burden of proof that has to be met for a lawsuit to succeed, it doesn't exist here.

I can see how the bg percussion (idk what instrument it is, I'm not a percussionist sorry) sounds similar, but the mixing sounds wayyy different

Just for those unfamiliar with music copyright suits in the US, the one making plagiarism claims must prove that the artist who allegedly copied their work had not only heard the original track, but also that the two works share unique musical components.

Carats don't really rave about them self producing songs (some maybe, but the majority doesn't), they're appreciating their talents.
