obviously bts did not pave the way for my faves because they disbanded when bts' most recent comeback was blood sweat & tears all jokes aside, the obsession these people have with turning kpop groups into construction workers is ridiculous at this point, there are many other ways to compliment BTS for what they did for k-pop which don't include downplaying other artists. of course they're not obligated to know BoA's entire discography, but a few twitter users commenting "who?" under a post about her does not erase the impact she had on the industry.

I don't believe it's necessary to build up one group/artist by tearing down the other so it's pretty when i see people fighting over stuff like that
When you start invalidating the success of one group/artist in order to say your group is wayyyyyyy more iconic and influential then just stop you've already lost
