I was a bad alcoholic in my 20's (2009) and I was drinking excessively and spending all my money on alcohol, or any other given moment.
I only quit when my father told me I had to, 'otherwise I was going to end up dead from it'. He said.

It was hurting my insides and other things at such a young age. : /

I did it to 'be rid of my problems'. Not the best move of my life.

I am glad I could manage to not drink a drop for so many years.

I may not be the most popular at parties, because I don't drink,
But at least I am still alive here to talk about it. <3

That's good. Drinking is ok in moderation, just like anything else.
I'd rather not take that chance and I am not much of a social party person anyways.
