Not me. I knew about kpop on 2017, When I was 53. I'm still older, anyway.

But I have never considered myself a real kpop fan.

Depends on whats constitutes as a real kpop fan. Im a fan of Korean music in general, not just the idol side. I'm not really into the community side of things, but forums tend to keep me dated on releases better.
But then I view all music the same way, it the only Iife line have left generally.

Although it just nice experiencing someone's view from that time as being a older kpop fan (time wise not age wise) as other fans were so hard to come by back then, it's just nice to know there were others listening to kpop in the same era.

I least I could say that I only ever cared for one single group and nothing else. Well, if you include some Korean rock/metal bands like Vassline or Bursters, then I could say I care for some of the Korean music; but to my understanding, that's not pop music, so it doesn't count.

I wonder how things would have been if I would have known about Korean music earlier in my life. I might have liked more mainstream music, and things might have been different.
