...was on an anime movie. I can't remember the title. It was about a girl that worked as an idol in a group of three girls. She left the group to go for an acting career; and as an actress, she made a scene where she was raped. Her manager went totally nuts and began stalking her by pretending to be her "pure" former self. I don't remember exactly how it ended; but I distinctly remember that the other two girls kept going with the group as a duo. Do anyone here has seen it and know which movie it is?

The name of the movie is Perfect Blue and is one of the best anime movies ever made. Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan (that one with Nathalie Portman) was based on Perfect Blue.

Satoshi Kon did a lot of great anime.
Paranoia Agent is also a lot like Perfect Blue.

It's a little ironic that I went through that loop of knowing about Japanese idols first; then to kpop idols, then to jpop itself. Back in August 2017, when I was looking for video reactions to the Despacito song, I found KNK's video reaction to that song. If it were not because they described KNK as an idol group; I might not have checked out kpop at all, and that was because I had already watched Perfect Blue.

Tbh I barely know a thing about Jpop idols and I can name several Jpop/Jrock and even the indie scene. Lol!
