i actually was THAT classmate in elementary school. i never owned airpods, but the headphones i had were still really loud so i would always bring them to school and turn the music up as much as i could so that everyone around me knows what i'm listening to. i don't know why 12-year-old me thought that my classmates would recognise songs which were relevant more than 20 years ago, let alone that they would be genuinely interested in hearing them. thankfully i stopped acting like that after a while and now i can really feel how annoyed you are, sometimes when i forget to bring my own headphones while i'm on a bus or somewhere and the person next to me is playing loud music (by that i mean genres that i can't stand), i immediately try to change my seat or even get out of the bus one stop earlier than i normally would. i really wrote a whole essay on this lmao
