Declining After Debut? (1 Viewer)

This topic is one I find interesting as I never really thought it was a thing
until I randomly started ranting to myself because I'm a nut.
Well anyway, I was listening to or well watching one of LOONA's lives for Why Not.
And I just got really frustrated and started saying to myself that I don't understand what happened to their music.

Spoiler: Long Winded Rant

So personally I liked most of their solos.
I liked it and really enjoy Hi High & FavOriTe.
I loathe Butterfly with such an intense passion.
I think I had nightmares about that ultrasonic high-pitched "wings wings" in the background.
So What was better but also faded into the background for me.
Then Why Not was just so repetitive upon the first listen
and even now watching all their lives I still can't get into the song.
I personally think their music quality for their TITLE tracks has declined steadily since their debut.

This makes me sad because
One, they are talented.
Two, they are stunning.
Three, I REALLY WANT TO LIKE THEM!
But I feel like I have a hard time liking groups when
I only like their b-sides or some of their b-sides.
I want to be able to watch an MV for a song I like
and lives for a song I like.
I want to ENJOY that-so far I can only do that with their debut and Star.

So I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
If you really liked a group's debut and thought they'd become your new favorite group.
But then the releases after the debut were lack luster or not up to par with what you expected.

I also think CLC could fall into this because Pepe was iconic but then the songs RIGHT after it were not.
But they hit their stride eventually-I'm hoping that will happen with LOONA.

As an Orbit I agree on certain parts of this, I think they've become the RV of their gen, since their title tracks are very divisive. However, I don't think the quality has changed at all, their last album is as good as + + if not even better.
It's just a matter of taste I guess, I haven't enjoyed any of their title tracks since Hi high but a lot of people love So What or Why not?

Yeah, Loona... I really liked their pre-debut MVs, but I'm not that hyped with the new titles...

Everglow had me simping with Bon Bon Chocolat, but then Adios and Dun Dun were not for me at all, luckily La Di Da turned things around big time.

I do think their albums are great for the most part but I like to enjoy the titles. I sadly haven't with LOONA for a long bit. However with RV I actually tend to like a majority of their titles and b-sides which is why I'm able to stan them.

Dun Dun was not my taste but Adios was addictive at first, kind of don't care for it now but still listen. La Di Da is def their best though.

I liked their older songs. I think I was a fan until Aze Gag. After that it went away for me

I got into them when OEC debuted. I personally really enjoyed the predebut process, I think it was brilliant especially for a group as large as theirs.

I like how they came to be, so a few unimpressive singles wouldn't make me turn from them.

loa is still my fav twice title track (lyrics aside) but after that I haven't been feeling their music as much

rv to some extent too, I felt like they peaked with the red
