I'm not sure if this will be permanent since they've taken breaks before and had to start a new account because of mass reporting on another but then again they said they were breaks and not retirement. Balloon_wanted is being targeted now too which is unfortunate if they decide to leave too then I wondering how long it'll be until Seoul Story goes as well.....

what a lot of people seem to be avoiding to understand is that they're not entitled to translations, and that these accs are done for free
translators are under no obligation to continue translating your own echo chamber, and guess what? there's going to be news you don't want to hear
same with subbing, translators there are paid by the word count so it's ridiculous to demand for higher quality translations and subs at the expense of those very translators not earning the money they need to live

Yeah he addresses the stuff people claimed he did in regards to Jonghyun but he only showed the memorializing photo of him and listed who attended the funeral which personally does not feel disrespectful to me (comparatively to the vulture news sources taking pictures and videos) but I understand that to some people they wanted full privacy extended to Jonghyun's family and friends who attended.

But yeah this case is just ridiculous since its old drama brought back

I honestly wasn't ever aware of all of his past mistakes or drama until now. :/ idk why people are bringing them back to the extent where he feels the need to retire.

Considering how much ARMY were targeting him over using a wrong photo because it was used by a news source, are we really surprised this happened? I'm not. There's some sick stuff in the QTs, too.

I will never get the hate at these accounts. They don't have to post translations and no one is making kpop fans follow them if they think the account is disrespectful, just block and move on. I don't see The Seoul Story deactivating because they're actually a site, not just an individual.

I am so appalled by the incessant harping when i noticed it on my twt tl earlier today, it was relentless the replies he got repeating the same thing over and over again after this one translation. If it had stopped or not been so overwhelming, it might hv been overlooked but you kinda coulda guessed it would hv continued forever if he hadnt left. Also blocking replies wouldnt hv made any sense or blocking others accts either. It would hv just blown up differently. Quittinng noww means they dont hv to second guess future translations. And the haters win cos other translators WILL second guess themselves when it comes to this fandom's accts repeating the same tactics in future. Congratulations to the fandoms who protect their faves by attacking translators when ur faves do wrong. Guess we'll hv less translators after this now.

Jesus Christ Twitter Armys get triggered over the most random things.
I can't believe all this happened because he used the words "fender bender" for a DUI incident involving an actress. Also, the pic wasn't something he decided to use by himself, it's what was linked in the original news source.

Twitter Armys have normalized cyberbullying so much and there's nobody to call them out on it.

Found this reply by Oh_mes on Reddit, thankfully he's still there. I always prefer r/kpop over Stan Twitter anyway, toxicity usually gets downvoted and there are actual moderators who supervise the place so.
Like he says, the decision was made not because of personal attacks, but attempts by stans to doxx him and stalk him.
