Each year I've been on KS so far I've done some kind of lists, be that my Top 100s lists or my Top 10s of Month lists.
To keep the tradition I'm gonna do two threads each month, one at half the month, the other at the end of the month.
Just giving some recommendations of songs that were released that you might've missed or just general appreciation for them.
The 2nd Half was much more packed than the first one, so it's a bit more than last time, but I gotta say I really enjoyed almost all the releases of January.
Dreamcatcher - Odd Eye & Poison Love
The whole album is amazing but these 2 tracks are definitely my favorites.
Odd Eye returns to a more harsher rock sound again, which I think a lot of people have been missing from Boca.
And Poison Love is so nice because the whole song is pretty much in a much deeper vocal tone than most GG songs these days, which makes it much more pleasant to listen to.
It's a great addition to their already superb EDM b-sides.
Golden Child - Burn It & Cool Cool
Golden Child has always delivered when it came to titles and Burn It is no exception.
It's not as dramatic as the MV but it's a great reggaeton influenced song.
Cool Cool has a really catchy tune, especially in the chorus with the brass instrumental, but I can't get over those sparcely placed high notes.
Cherry Bullet - Love So Sweet
This was a surprise hit for me. I didn't have too much expectations but it just clicked with me.
Claps and whistles make it really catchy and in general the melody is easy to hum along to, which is a perfect recipe for a bop.
ONEUS - No Diggity & Lion Heart
ONEUS has always been on my watch list, I've really enjoyed their music so far, but I think No Diggity is easily their best title up to date.
With a mixture of a hard hitting chorus and more melodic verses/pre-choruses on top of electric guitars and big drums, it just hits all the right spots for me.
And as for Lion Heart, it's drop is pure EDM bliss for me. It's definitely something I'd turn up to full volume and go crazy for.
T1419 - Asurabalbalta
I actually didn't like this one too much at the beginning but the more I listened to it the more I fell in love with it.
I've really been enjoying their vocal line ALOT.
BOBBY - U MAD, RocKstaR & DeViL
This album is already my top listened one for January with about 500 listens in total, usually I reach those numbers with just a few tracks from an album but I think this is also the most equal in numbers for all the songs, with the 3 I'm talking about having a bit more.
The whole thing is so damn good.
U MAD is a hip hop banger which I usually don't like too much,
RocKstaR has such a unique and minimalistic instrumental that lets you focus on how freaking diverse Bobby is with his voice, all the little details he places are just so nice to discover (he does it throughout the whole album), and DeViL feels like a big anthem, especially with the female chanting, this feels like a song that would play when you're taking down rich politicians or something lol.
