Sometimes when you listen back to some bops from the past you can really tell they were a product of their time
That doesn't mean you can't still enjoy them but they definitely sound dated lol.

While some other songs could still be released today and fit right in with the current soundscape.

Which are your fav dated and timeless songs?

I think back during 2009-2011, when Kpop was in its honeymoon phase with autotune and overused the shit out of it, if you listen to it now, they very much sound like songs from their time. Still, it gave us some classics lol.







Meanwhile some songs I think could still fly today and do just as well:






Similarly, many songs from the last 2-3 years, esp the ones following the beat drop trends, tropical house, EDM drops and other styles will sound dated in a few years, they'll still be enjoyable but you can tell which era they're from lol.

I think EXO in general has a run of titles that could really sound fresh in any age lol, except like their super early stuff and Obsession which sound like they belong strictly in a certain time period.
But even Lucky One, Love me right or their winter ballads could release now and people would think they're new songs.
