how worth is it to watch Naruto? (1 Viewer)

i might have to binge watch it to a few months but like I was wondering if I actually should

I loved it, just have to be wary of the filler arcs, flashback episodes and the entire 2nd half of Part I

I liked to watch Naruto until Shippuden. Didn't really enjoy the show after that and there were so many annoying filler episodes.

If you can handle a lot of flashbacks and fillers, then it's great. It doesn't immediately jump into action like a lot of newer shonens do, but it's still fun.

Just watch out for those filler episodes lol.

Otherwise you'll meet a lot of super memorable characters and see some amazing story arcs and fights, and also "get" a lot of memes and references anime fans make in passing suddenly

Extremely, I can't overstate how bad and offputting they are
Although there's like 1-2 that can be funny but it's like an entirely diff show lol.

That being said there are SOME filler episodes towards the end that do a good job of filling in some past backstory but you won't have to worry about those for a while lol.

But Naruto and Bleach are infamous for having some of the worst filler episodes in anime pls stay away

Tbh it's a long show so it takes its time setting everything up lol, it's not for everybody but for long time viewers it's very rewarding

But yeah compared to modern animes, it does feel dated at times. But the hype fights and moments still stand up with the best of them today. And Naruto/Naruto Shippuden have some of the GOAT themes in anime.

Okay but it didn't capture my interest in those 5 episodes
And watching 200 episodes of Sailor Moon was hard enough so I doubt I'd get through Naruto again

Yeah lol but you don't even get an idea of the plot of the show in those 5, coz the scope and scale of the story/characters is so huge, 5 episodes isn't even like the prologue lol, if you can watch upto say episode 20, you'd get a better idea although that's still like the opening 5% of the story
Anyway I don't blame you, after Naruto I stay clear of long running animes too you can only watch 1

The first 10-15 episodes really aren't
Then it gets progressively better but still not GREAT
Then around episode 40 the Yorknew City arc starts, the Phantom Troupe get introduced and it goes from like a 7/10 show to a 20/10 show
Btw this is followed by Greed Island and Chimera Ant arcs and they are arguably even better lol.

Well it's too big and vast to really give an accurate idea through a short summary

Basically it's a shonen about a ninja world and the MC Naruto Uzumaki who grows up orphaned and hated by villagers around him due to reasons explained pretty early on. He aims to become the strongest ninja in his village aka achieve the title of Hokage. Along the way he meets friends, rivals, mentors etc. It's about his raw determination to succeed and become the best and also change the ninja world while never giving up from all his hardships. But saying this is just like saying One Piece is about finding a treasure and becoming Pirate King lol, it's like the outline, I can't really get into all the shit that happens coz too long and spoilers.

It's extremely long and has a lot of filler but if you skip it, it's pretty good even with it's flaws coz the highs are just that damn good. And esp if you like impressive character backstories, emotional impact, some amazing fights, an extremely large and interesting cast and one of the best anime soundtracks around then you'll like it. Requires patience but the payoffs are
