As a company, it gets a lot of criticism , but Jinyoung Park also supported Jae of Day6 in taking a break for his mental health issues,so I think that is great.
But let´s be honest, he doesn´t come off as the most pleasing guy ever.
What do you think?

People keep forgetting/not knowing he's not CEO and isn't even in the executive board anymore lmao. Or that each group is currently managed by individual divisions. He's a producer only since like 2012, and he is the owner but he himself has said he keeps away from executive decisions because he wanted to focus on the idols and the music more. Sure, he is the owner, and sure he has the final word in some cases when he wants to, i don't doubt it, but he clearly doesn't meddle with most of the executive affairs regardless.

The one thing he did develop after a long time of stepping away from these decisions was the idea of JYP 2.0 which was basically what brought JYP to step on everyone pretty much the last few years sdfhsdfh lmao, basing itself on the experiment that was Twice's self managed division.

Aside from that, some people might see him as creepy (not any different from many male and female solo artists, but due to his age people do judge him more) and ocassionally made boomer comments lmao but i think he is mostly quite admirable above all those things with the way he helped jae or helped jackson's family or rain and his mom back in the day etc etc etc as much as people make it out to be a really hostile but there is a reason why artists kept coming back to him and still hold such a meaningful relationship with him like Sunmi + the other WG + Rain, etc. He gets along very well with his artists and his artists seem extremely comfortable with him as seen over and over in variety.

That + the focus on mental health + his idea of thinking artists should be good people first and foremost + freedom of the artist, etc make me respect him a lot. Even if he wasn't the best person himself, he strives for his artists to be so first and foremost. Plus his solo stuff has been bop after bop since the 90's ngl lmao. So i do think decently highly of him, i do criticize a lot of things but it's still impressive especially for the standards the industry has.

thank you for sharing your opinion. but I must disagree with you on the first part. despite the fact that he might / might not be in charge of the decisions, it is his name that is associated with the label, so he is as much responsible for what has been going on as anyone else. if your name is asigned to something, you´d make sure it stays clean. his certainly isn´t.

not included in my previous post, but there is also the way he treated ha:tfelt (also known as yeeun from wg). jyp yelled at her for not wearing makeup to a recording and she had to write him a 11 pages long letter to release the songs she wants to. he also wanted her to choose another song as the title track of her debut album because people could see "her sexiness through it" even when she said she didn't want anyone to focus on her outer appearance but on the sincerity of her songwriting.

i said he ultimately has the say yes lol but not in every single thing for sure. A name is a name, jyp was founded under his name but it's been decades since then and he didn't step out until way later. Lee soo man's name is also SM and same goes for YG but LSM wasn't ceo or even exec for like over a decade and YG officially stepped out in like 2015 for his brother to take over then he came back then he left again because nepotism. Etc etc so it's more complicated than that usually.

yes, sure, but Lee Sooman also get a lot criticism for his company. But I understand it is more complicated than one would think. Generally speaking, it is hard to make decisions and everyone makes mistakes, some are just in more seen positions.

also the whole "jyp ent. cares about mental health" is bullsh*t in my opinion, if they did then jyp himself wouldn't publicly bodyshame a minor and they wouldn't tell momo to eat nothing but ice for a week to the point where she was scared for her own life. giving members suffering from anxiety a break is bare minimum and in no way worth praising. i'm not accusing him of lying or saying that he's forced to say anything, but jae's text messages he posted on twitter always seemed a bit weird to me i mean why would two korean men text each other in english...

tbh, Jae provided screenshots of their texts so ... and the company really gave him as much leave as he asked for. Jae suffered from depression and burn out. He has various food allergies so it really took a toll on his physical health and he was given as much free time as he asked for and joined the promotions later.

because jae´s korean is not very good?

People kind of forgot about lee soo man after the 2nd gen really, if anything yg does get a lot of crap but in his case he was always in the forefront and was actually the ceo most of the time.

I also forgot to mention but the main thing i meant was that because of the division system he can't humanly intervene in things most of the time because it's so many groups and so many divisions and subdivisions (and well, that was one of the reasons it was developped to begin with). Because i do put the stuff pre-jyp 2.0 up to his responsibility most of the time, mainly miss a and 2am as well as the horrid decision of bringing wg to america and what came from it (which is the main reason he stepped out as an exec, he wanted to manage them in the us) so. But yeah in general i meant post 2013 and mainly post-2015 stuff. Everything before i do put up to his responsibility, very much so LOL.

I don´t care you posting in this thread really :D. like you have no opinion and you don´t care so why bothering clicking? or do you need to get your 20 posts? I was hoping for some contribution :D.

I´m glad for your view on the topic. as I have said I haven´t heard a lot of good things about the company, I don´t know what to think of him as a person. He definitely doesn´t come off as someone who would catch my attention, but there is no doubt that he has created a successful business, bad or good, he still knows how to manage money or at least hire people to manage money. that is admirable.
there are, however, a lot of shady things going on and it is interesting to think about - where should we place responsibility - sure, he can´t lead the company 24/7 and you are right, he might overlook (mistakenly) a lot of decisions and he might even personally disagree with them BUT he is the one who can say NO, OUR COMPANY WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS. so it is so-so.
on the other hand, I´m glad to hear a different opinion.

If you don't care about people posting in your threads, why making one? Do you need to make three threads?
You asked what I think about him as a person and I answered that I don't care about him, because I don't know him.
And then you dare to ask me if I'm okay with underaged Idols being sexualized? Like, when did I ever made the impression that I'm okay with any kind of pedophilia/hebephilia?

in the larger scale things i do think he does (or if he doesn't, should) have a hand, like if a problem escalates such as big scandals or big issues such as the got7 stuff or certain larger scale situations overall i am pretty certain he has a hand in it. And if it comes out with a bad result even being such a big thing, i do put it up to him

But aside from that i don't put responsibility on him (example: i sure as hell don't blame the "crappy" art direction of twice's photoshoots on him lmao, though it's been complained about so many times that i do think he should intervene or do something about it) because it's impossible to micromanage such a company and that's the reason the division system was made. Before 2015, it was a micromanaged company in his own words, akin to YG, and that's what led to many of the problems of the company (again, in his own words). But there is a big difference between back then and right now and it's very apparent i'd say.
