Do you think you'll fall out of interest anytime soon? And if you do, what would the reason for that be?

I saw a tiktok last night that said that people typically lost interest in kpop when they find other things in their life that makes them happy

And as sad as that sounds, it was relatively true for me.​

it's been 8 years, ocassionally i follow it less but overall i have always since very early pretty much listen to everything. I just don't keep up with the groups themselves too well at times. For example in 2018 and especially 2019 i kind of fell off the wagon hard

(my god especially during the burning sun scandal and what came right after because it was like 24/7 only articles and threads about it everywhere, but if i wanted to read about it i just checked the reddit megathread) and i didn't like the music in 2019 too much either

but 2020 got me going hard, i liked almost everything from everyone and now i'm active enough that i came back to forums after a long long time so yeah i don't see it going away for me anytime soon. I take too much inspiration from it for the arts i'm involved with and it means a lot to me, in essence it's the reason i decided to pursue most of the stuff i do now, so yeah.

I´m always open to new things in my life. I don´t live and breathe for kpop and I think it allows me to mingle my interests and keep my range of interests more open.
but the main reason that I´m here is that there are cool people that I like talking to and as long as they stay .... well, bear my annoying ass or use that "ignore" button :)

no, to me kpop is just a music genre and i haven't even lost interest in what i listened to in my early teens so i don't think it will be any different for kpop. i might not check out the latest releases as much as i do now but i don't see myself completely losing interest in it. when it comes to things like variety shows and other things idols do other than making music then i was never interested in that to begin with.

i'm not that interested in variety content anymore, but i consistently enjoy the music so i doubt i'll be falling out of interest with the kpop genre as a whole

no, I think we´d miss that. it is just a part of you and while it is funny and cute, I think it is also great that you are offering people other kind of music. maybe exactly for the reasons stated above: everyone gets burn out of kpop when they are invested wayyy too much, it is not that they are bad fans, but concentrating on one thing can be tiring. you are also always willing to talk about Jrock and that is very nice of you because yes, let´s be honest jrock is not as popular as kpop and every teaching requires patience :D.

when I first joined I do have to admit that I found it a bit odd that someone was promoting something else than kpop, but now I just cannot imagine this place without my daily dose of passcode :).

i dont think ill lose interest cause of moving on in life etc
im happily engaged in process of adopting so i couldn't be more happy in my life

but if kpop music gets anymore western and starts to realise more english music than it is now
i feel like there is a chance as i will just listen to people who can pronounce english better xD

I have fallen out of kpop twice before...
when i lost interest in seventeen..
and
when i lost interest in bts..

as both had dramatic music changes
svt from cute to more mature and at the time it was basically same as everything else and was meh
bts cause theyre music went from amazing [wings era] to meh with dna and idol the sound is cheap to me personally

but nct is pretty safe i feel as i love the concept

i wouldnt say im as intense as most kpop fans
i dont watch kpop varieties i dont even watch vlives etc
i just listen to the music and watch some youtube videos now and then
and buy albums

i guess if they meant falling out of love with eveything apart from the music i guess alot of us did
as nothing is interesting about the shows it all the same stuff and if comes across so fake and babyish
i dont want to see a 17 to 29 year old acting cute/sexy on the spot it is cringey id rarther a interview kinda show and get to know the true personality

Maybe. Over the past year I've been listening to more music in English and now I prefer it over kpop again. Kpop songs just haven't been as good as they used to be :/

it'll wane and wax, but i dont think it'll ever vanish. i mean, during the early 2010s i was so out of it, only keeping up with like 2 groups.
