is it just me or are these bullying accusations extra vicious?? it’s everything from name calling to criminal behavior like sexual assault and complete humiliation it’s very concerning to say the least..i mean everywhere has bullying but this stuff these idols are being accused of is intense

It does seem more intense than some others. Of course all type of bullying is bad but man what some Idols have done is really concerning.
I'm watching a Drama right now and its pretty much exactly depicted that way as well. Not saying that fiction = truth, but there seem to be some similarities to it with how vicious it can be.

And from what I've read teachers apparently don't really get any support from the government to deal with bullying or other things, it's basically just "can't you ignore them" or "they are just teasing, be friends" and that sort of stuff which doesn't help at all when adults turn a blind eye to bullying

I don't know if it's because in my country we are way more violent than SK but compared to the things I saw in my school most of what I've seen is kinda mild, and this is coming from someone who attended a private school were we had (allegedly) a higher level of education.
I remember we had raids every now and then, searching over the backpacks and stuff and they would find knives and razor blades, the last ones were pretty popular among the girls so they could cut the hell out of each other. I never saw drugs or smoking (smoking is not really common in my country) but I was one of the few from my class who didn't drink and the only one without having children before 18.
Public schools are even more hardcore though...

well bullying is a huge problem in Korea, but it's sadly treated like a joke

from stories I've heard in my life, the accusations are mild, but compared to my personal experience, it's really wild

but if the kids cannot be disciplined by their teachers (the only ppl who would want to deal with it let's be real), they're learning that there are little to no consequences to their actions, so I can't be surprised at how easily disturbing it can get when there are no real repercussions

well bullying is a huge problem in Korea, but it's sadly treated like a joke

GRAZYGRACE mentioned that there is actually a court where you can take school bullies to if it gets that bad. So it doesn't go completely unpunished but I think within the school it is LARGELY ignored.

I feel like bullying can go from making fun of someone and name calling to extreme violence. It does seem like SK has their own types bullying though that i havent heard happening elsewhere.
