News Jujutsu Kaisen announces new movie! (4 Viewers)

The movie will be following the events of Vol 0 which was essentially the original pilot manga for our current Jujutsu Kaisen and was released as Vol. 0 just recently. Vol 0 takes place a year before the main story and follows Okkotsu Yuuta as our main protagonist!

Spoiler: Synopsis for Vol. 0

Yuuta Okkotsu is haunted. Ever since his childhood friend Rika died in a traffic accident, her ghost has stuck with him. But her spirit does not appear as the sweet girl Yuuta once knew. Instead, she manifests as a monstrous and powerful entity who fiercely protects him. Unable to control Rika's violent behavior, Yuuta is helpless to stop the bloodshed that follows from her brutal vengeance. As a result, when apprehended by "Jujutsu" sorcerers—the secret guardians of the world, trained to combat forces like Rika—Yuuta wishes to be completely isolated so that no one else can get hurt.

Yet his apprehender, the master sorcerer Satoru Gojou, has different plans for him: he will join Jujutsu High School and learn to control Rika in order to help people. Now a first-year at this school, Yuuta starts to learn Jujutsu arts and combat malignant beings. Alongside his new classmates Maki Zenin, a Jujutsu weapons expert; Toge Inumaki, a spellcaster who uses his words as weapons; and Panda, a seemingly walking and talking panda bear, Yuuta begins to find his place in the world and, for once, to feel comfortable with his abilities. However, as his training progresses, Yuuta comes to learn that the dangers of the Jujutsu world go far beyond that of wicked spirits.

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, the date mentioned by Geto in the PV could be possibly be a clever reveal at the movie's release date as Crunchyroll also reports the movie will be coming this Winter!

He has, he's even shown in the 2nd opening ehehehe he's just not part of the main story at all until much much later (as in he only showed up in the manga like in the flesh and not just being mentioned a few weeks ago)

I got plenty of time as long as the OP is fire and gives me hype for the episode, same for the EDs. Occasionally if i'm binging an anime and the OP/EDs are okay then i'll start skipping but as long as I don't find them outright annoying i'll sit through the entire thing if i'm watching weekly. It's really fun seeing how they change stuff around sometimes like with Hanako-kun they gradually start revealing stuff like pretty much blatant spoilers in the OP as the anime goes along and then with JJK in the last ep with Junpei they put tears on Yuuji and it's like that extra stab in the heart to make that ep just that lil bit more painful

My guess is they're going to aim for another fall season debut either fall 2021 or fall 2022. I think if they do another season for this year it might just be a one cour season possibly. I think a 24 ep season could catch up to where the manga is currently so my guess is they do a one cour season this year or two cour season next year to prevent catching up too quickly to the manga. This is only my personal speculation though, the one thing i'm certain of is they will definitely not let the hype slow down so I can't imagine having to wait longer than a year or so before they release more content, since they have a movie for next winter as well I wouldn't mind waiting longer for a new season
