So basically yesterday, someone and their partner who I worked with quit
mid-shift. Leaving everyone behind to clean up their mess and work our asses off
to get back on pace and we got out at like 9:30 PM.

But the next day comes to find out that this guy who quit and left all of us HANGING.
Told one of his friends who used to work there why he quit.
They posted some bullshit on social media basically talking a bunch of shit about the company.
They said they were doing it for the employees and the clients we work with.
But legit they hurt so many of us and the clients by ditching mid-shift the day before...
and that post they made was full of so much crap and bullshit to top it off.
It's just a shitty situation.
(I get why the person was upset but their actions messed up so much and show the opposite of their words).

But have you ever had any experience with a whistleblower? (Am I even using this term right?)
If you did was it justified or no?

That's why I was trying to figure out if I was using the correct term. Also the only people agreeing with the post were people who got fired for being shitty employees and screwing entire shifts over.

I had experience with a whistle blower and am a whistleblower. The co workers I worked with continued to make up excuses on why they couldn’t come in to complete their shift. So, my aunt and I were the ones who had to constantly cover all their shifts for two weeks straight. They they were fired and continued to say we both bullied them to the point they didn’t feel safe coming into to work. They were asked to provide proof and had none. Multiple other co workers also exposed them because they made rumors about them. The others tried getting other co workers to quit by a groupchat and it backfired because a co worker who was in it exposed it.

it would have been easier if they just stated they weren’t feeling the job. Instead they made it where I would have to work 100 hours every two weeks covering for them.

I got Covid from my workplace and got two weeks off for it. I still am off work, but I had to tell the health department my work is trying to blame I gave the resident Covid when other residents saw them cough on me. My workplace is allowing residents to not wear masks and only staff has to. The health care department is saying they’ll be sending a notice out to my work about what they’re doing and how they tried to blame me even though I got Covid from the mask less resident.

I get why you whistle blowed then because that's a legitimate concern.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a whistleblower situation at all, just awful people trying to justify their behaviour.

I was a whistleblower at a former job. Very quickly learned that many, MANY laws, good practices, etc were being ignored. Thought I could fix things, but the boss found out I told a client they'd done something wrong (client ratted me out) I was put on suspension so that I couldn't claim unemployment. I then turned in my bosses to the state regulatory board for their profession with a Google Drive full of evidence against them, and after a months long investigation, the whole place was shut down and the main boss lost his license and had to sell the business.

I have zero regrets on that one, especially after hearing stories from former clients about DECADES worth of bad behaviour. I have PTSD from some of the things I dealt with there.

Yep, and true whistleblowers are usually protected by law so that the employer can't retaliate for them exposing the improprieties.
It pisses one of my former bosses off beyond all reason that no lawyer will take his case and sue me. You can't just not like the way things are done and walk off, you have to have hard evidence that they were breaking laws/regulations, etc. You also have to go about blowing the whistle in a legitimate manner by contacting the proper authorities.
