You are literally using only half of it since the stick in the middle you're holding it with doesn't allow you to completely utilize it for yourself, wouldnt it be much better to have the stick on like the side so you can actually stand under the whole umbrella? sure it might be useful when sharing a umbrella but who does that, i dont want to fight for my place under the umbrella with ya

where i live rain is part of the culture so i usually don't even carry an umbrella

the better question is, "Why do they make umbrellas span out so small?" first they take up space by putting the stick in the middle, then they make the actual fabric that keeps u dry, very small. Who is small enough to fit under that? Just make them all big
