Am I the only one who doesn't hate NCT Hollywood? (2 Viewers)

I feel really weirded out by how aggressive ppl are being over NCT Hollywood

It's almost like ppl think these boys are going to take away something from the other units and groups SM has... I think this unit will "take" a lot less from the other groups than an asian unit (especially a japanese one) would take, considering they won't be able to fly back and forth constantly + won't be promoting on the same shows as the korean ones. The most likely end result will be them getting their own staff and mostly operating on their own out there, with occasional interactions.

This srsly reminds me of when SuperM got announced, everybody just bandwagon hates INSTANTLY.

I just... do not get how this is bad. Kpop inspired groups were ALWAYS going to happen at some point outside of asia. Simon Cowell already tried and I would MUCH rather have it done by an actual kpop company.

As for MORE new members.... This is NCT???? Like.... this was always going to happen! International units of NCT were ALWAYS going to happen, so why are people surprised over NCT Hollywood (I do hope this won't ACTUALLY be the name though).

I'm also HIGHKEY weirded out by how ppl are going ew white men/boys when this is brought up.... like.... replace the word white with any other race in there and you will get my point

There is also the added factor... you don't have to stan them! It's alright to not stan every single unit! I am not much of a 127 stan myself, I barely watch their content! But ppl really need to learn to not stan without hating.

I assume they are tbh, the only criteria I've seen is aged 13 to 25

mostly because i was expecting them to do nct japan or at least other asian countries before they branched out to other non asian countries and partly because it's still a weird idea to me that non asian people would be involved in kpop. which im guessing this is more kpop inspired than actual kpop?

I dont like kpop mixing too much with American pop. Some collabs have been OK, but usually it doesn't bring anything that good. I also feel like the training system won't match well with USA especially if we go by so definition of kpop and idols

I guess it can be entertaining... but there is lot of pitfalls.

I can get that, but at the same time, it's kinda obvious rn that another non-korean asian unit isn't going to happen THAT soon. (I think we are getting another korean unit first)
NCT Japan would make fans even MORE mad, bcs whether Yuta is in it or not ppl will be mad.
NCT SEA would be awkward too, bcs well... what about Ten!??

I agree, it is definitely easy to fuck up.
They can't take kpop exactly how it is and then copy paste it over to America.
They also can't take western pop and just do that either.

They have to find a good mix of it. I think they'll be fine in the music department tbh, a lot of NCT songs would not be out of place there. (Love Talk, Baby don't stop etc)

Just.... SM hasn't fucked up yet and they HAVE "attacked" whole markets similarly to this in the past. BoA was LITERALLY just a calculated attack on Japan. EXO was a calculated "attack" on China and both times it has worked.

People are already acting like it's the worst thing ever, when it isn't ANYTHING yet.

Yeah i'm a little surprised that people are so mad about the prospect of an NCT group based in America....like did you really not see this coming? Kpop as a whole has been breaking into the American market and SM literally made NCT with the goal of expanding them into a world wide group.

Also, there is no massively popular American boy group right now so making a US group that's also a kpop group is actually pretty smart and I know SM sees the dollar signs they can make here
