So far any non instrument playing BG has been extremely cringe to me, non K-Pop wise, idk what it is about it but just like in the era of TikTok and trying to be the thirtiest thirst traps to ever trap (like we don't already have x amount of tiktok boygroups) it just doesnt feel like its sth that should exist lmao, they sure can try to convince me of the opposite, please do

Can it be considered kpop if the unit is chinese?
Can it be considered kpop if the unit is Japanese etc etc

WayV isn't considered kpop, so like... what's your point. They are an NCT unit and aren't kpop.


So you think all future NCT units should stay in Asia? Or would you be alright with an all black unit? Would you be alright with smbdy non-asian being in a kpop group, if they were born and raised in Asia? Are you JUST excluding white ppl here, bcs they are white?

There is also the thing, nowhere has it said the entire group would be all white and I agree, if it ends up being all white, it'll be kinda fucked and not it. But as it's said everybody worldwide can apply as long as they are male and in between the ages of 13-25, I better hope they don't keep it to just one race.

You are kind of missing the point. K-Pop is a primarily Asian music genre, and while yes there are other races in it, they are POC. White people literally invade every space created by POC, it isn't wrong to have a genre without them taking other's culture for once. Also, don't know why you brought up black people, but if you want to talk about that... no, there is absolutely no problem with black people being in K-Pop considering so many aspects of the Korean music industry literally came from black people... but that is an entirely different story. And again, like I also said, we don't know for sure what they are planning for the unit yet. Was just stating my opinion about if white people were to be added.

How though would you feel about an unit that had a mix of multiple races?
1-2 white guys, 1-2 asians, 1-2 black ppl
How would you feel if it was like that? (just trying to understand you)

It wouldn't be white ppl invading kpop, it would be a group based in America that has members from America. I already said, I wouldn't like it if it was 100% white either (and I wouldn't be mad if there was no white ppl tbh) but I don't see the purpose of banning white ppl from being in a group that is based in america. The same way I wouldn't see the purpose of banning any other race from it. Ideally I would like a group with multiple ethnicities in it.

There is also the matter, that SM more or less invented kpop idols. SM were the first ones to introduce non koreans into the mix. It seems like even at that point the argument could've been made, why introduce non-koreans at all to something that is Korean. Wouldn't it be better to keep it just them? The question now is similar only on a larger scale.

I wonder of the group would be exactly like kpop group but only do music in english or would there be other differences

I'm totally up for it, the whole point of NCT is that it's ever-expanding and that they're always adding new members and new units. The only thing I'm worried about is Koreaboos auditioning for the show and how hard I'm gonna cringe watching all of the mess unfold.

Not to mention whether these American kids are gonna be about to cope with how hardcore the Korean trainee process is. We've already seen Asian American kids tend to have a harder time adjusting to how strict things are, I can't imagine how a bunch of kids with no prior exposure to that type of cultural environment are gonna handle it...
