I think I'd go with the basic one cuz I don't know how them electric ones be on the skin. Also, what if you were in the middle of shaving, and the battery died? You'd have to go out with have a leg shaven; not what you want your first impression to be

Electric, i think they are actually less damaging for skin. But the one i have doesn't shave as clean, hair grows back faster when i use it.
