i need help?

so like,,, i have a crush on this guy, and he actually lowkey reciprocates?? by that i mean, he:
- dms first
- says hi first (which he doesn’t do often)
- tries to do things to get my attention (singing songs by queen [who i like a lot] and repeating my name and tapping me a lot)
- and we have a flowing conversation, never awkward

but i really don’t want to give myself false hope because the last time i liked someone, he liked my best friend? so,,,

It is hard really to know what he is thinking, but you could try with something like striking a conversation with him about his ideal type of girlfriend, if he really does like you, he would probably say someone like you.

My advice is to either
1. Keep going. Give flirty jokes/hints until he asks you out (/doesn't)
or
2. Ask him out.

Sometimes it's hard for guys to ask for a date. It helps a lot when a girl is taking the initiative. But of course if you're not comfortable with that then I'd recommend my first option more out of the two.
