Indeed. Of course I do "like" a comment because I like it, but I also use it as a way to acknowledge that I've seen it. Especially in my own threads as it just seems rude to ignore a comment even if you have no opinion on it (it's okay to do so though, just not something I do personally).

The vast majority of comments on KS are nice and worthy of a like anyway.
