Is it easy for you to change your job? (1 Viewer)

Serious question, so huh, I´ve got a job offer today. The job is basically the same, a friend of mine works there, the team is not the best, but neither are the colleagues at my current place. It takes you one hour to get there (now, where I work , it takes you 20 minutes and 1,30 by feet).
The pros, why to think about it at all?
My bos and his deputy are getting to be REAL jerks. They keep treating us worse than rats. Literally all I had done was exchange the room with my colleague and I was talked down like a child and there are more situations like these. The pro of the new place is also the fact that there are not that many people in my field there, so I´d probably have more freedom to "do as I wish". Also, I don´t feel anyone would miss me.
BUT THE COMMUTING? Money and time! and a huuuge risk. Also the fact it is me paying off the mortgage, no man to do that for me.
What would you do if you were me?

I think even if you hate the job It can be hard to make the switch so I understand, it's like worrying about losing that security

yeah, exactly I´m a bit of a chicken tbh. plus, I have never been very lucky. I really fear regretting my decision and leaving the place. while I really dislike my boss and his stupid deputy, I feel like at least I KNOW what to expect. they are perfectionists that don´t really care about the "human side" of things, they just need good numbers, good results and the rest is kind of ... well, suck it... but at the same time, some of my colleagues are not that bad.

no, not really, I have been thinking about maybe changing my job later, once my mortgage is paid off? and to find one close to home? but that´s just wishful thinking, there are not enough job offers and who knows what will happen later.

if you feel like it would be better to stay in your current, just don't give up the idea and keep looking for new ones. since the pandemic is going away slowly, hopefully you'll be able to find more openings

I've never worked before since I'm still young but from the experiences my parents have been through I understand how things can feel really hard at times.

yes, this is why I´ve never been into this "follow your heart" thingy. there was a part of my life when we were REALLY POOR and I am really scared to repeat that.

yes :). you are thoughtful and you mean well. you have offered your insight and I think it is really important to sometimes take a step back and look at one´s situation rationally, yet with a bit of sentiment.

what makes you happy can be both a cheesy phrase as well as some life advice. is money really worth it when you later spend it on anti-depressants? hmmm

I definitely agree with that, no matter how weird something is, if it makes you happy then go for it. Way better than ending up in a bad position in the future

the risk would be I might lose the job and not be able to pay off the mortgage that I have. yeah, I doubt he´ll get better, he might get better at being a jerk. he used to be ... different ... at least. more subtle and he hates me but most people do anyway :D

is the other job less stable? but yea losing a job isn't good either and the mortage adds for risks i guess u have to think if the other place would make u happier enough for the risks

well, first year you´ll get a contract for just one year, but after the first "trial" year you will get the unlimited one? same as with my job now.
it just takes 46 minutes by train to get there and that scares me :D. but I would probably be more free? in a sense of job.
to explain this whole mess, I´m a Libra, making decisions is a nightmare

I'm awful at making decisions too I pretty much chose my current job cause there was more people i knew even if they aren't my friends i at least knew i could get some support and understanding about job struggles but even still i don't know if it was best choice as my previous job had tasks that fit me more
