What are the advantages of discord? (1 Viewer)

So, a friend of mine invited me to join a discord server
I never used discord, so I have no clue how it works
I saw some people here talking about discord as well, perhaps someone can explain me what discord is

Well it gives a good way to communicate with friends or find new people with similar interests. I’m mostly just in servers with friends but I also joined a SuperM server and I enjoy it there, the people are nice in there and it’s cool to be able to talk with people about SuperM
Also I love some of the emotes

It's a great way to connect with other people who stan the same grps you do, but the quantity of msgs is overwhelming (to me anyway). I used to read/post in a few kpop discord servers more but slowed down, almost to standstill. (I joined too many kpop servers.)

It's instant messaging and servers allow you to easily have multiple channels for things that you can swap between so it's more organised than a single chat as well as being able to add your own emotes to use and such
