I received a weird notification of an abnormal amount of traffic hitting us on our server earlier, site did went down earlier for four minutes.

Upon further inspection, we are getting hit by an unusual amount of traffic. Traffic amounting to 1.8m coming in from sweden.

Traffic last 24 hours

So its safe to assume someone is targeting us with an attempt to grind our server down, I have activated preventive measures and will keep on monitoring for any developments.

Yeah i npticed some download speed issues with KS earlier today, the front page 15 latest threads slooooowly loading-i think the preventive measures u implemented stopped this happening now but who knows if it'll load slowly again. The time i noticed was between 8ish to 9/10ish, cos i was asleep/inactive during the other peak. Shd users notify/dm u if there's another, presumably ddos attack(or watever its called?. Weird how its following organic time schedule, like its following a sleep/rest cycle n not autinated 100%. Aside, is the US/UK request as per normal? Germany represent!!!

Edit: thnx Ryujin for ur hard work maintaing/upkeeping this site/forum, there was sth earlier abt the image migration tat i dint want to jinx KS by saying anything then, but this happened anyway. (Is there any way to learn if this is related to image migration?.r the requests for images or just pages/normal but accelerated/multiple requests?).

Its been a while that this happened, last was in 2019. Yes majority of our users are from the us/uk but its never been that high. I hope the mitigation can hold, i dont want to turn on panic mode on site which will disrupt the rest of our users.
