In my experience here and in that other place, it seems there are very, very few people interested in non-idol music, so if it's a matter of getting the most out of the time you spend, it's probably more worth it to just limit things to idol stuff.

Unfortunately non-idol music has a very small audience outside of Korea.

To be fair, I don't really actively 'keep up' with the release dates of non-idol artists. A lot of them drop songs with a few days notice or even spontaneously, so there's little point in having them in the chart. I just find the releases on my own anyway.

I'm sure it's fine if you drop non-idols, especially since there are so many @notthatmarko we appreciate the hard work : )

Loona - Butterfly (I hated how someone screamed "fly like a butterfly" in a really high pitched voice, maybe I'll listen to it again to see if it'll grow on me)

Kind of sad, there's some great r&b and lofi and electronic that people anywhere who like those genres would love. At least Mid Air Thief (and by extension, Summer Soul) got some recognition for Crumbling from the western hipster crowd last year.

I try to keep up. When I'm not slacking I check my Youtube subs every day, listen to everything for as long as I can stand it, which amounts to about 5 seconds for most ballads and OST songs, and bookmark anything good to go back to later. Speaking of dropping songs without notice:
