hmm.... my ancestral village in lebanon is located in the mountains. when I was younger we'd go by car to look at the fields of flowers, poppies nearby. its one of the reasons I like plants so much!

when I was in kindergarten in China I remember this story

so we had to go to sleep after lunch in Chinese kindergarten but I couldn't and didn't want to sleep so the teacher said to me if you don't go to sleep then I couldn't go swimming/playing in the pool in the afternoon. I complained but she held firm so I said ok I will sleep now and the teacher was satisfied - I then proceeded to "sleep" for like 2 minutes before waking up and annoying my teacher again and she asked I thought you'd gone to sleep to which I replied I did and now I'm awake you never said how long!!!! Needless to say I did not get to enjoy playing in the pool that day lol

lmfaooo epic. I didn't like teachers for this reason. too many rules and not enough flexibility

and yes I have been back, when I wassss 9? or 10. around 10 years ago, its very beautiful in the fall but the road there is scary, if you swerve you run the chance of falling off a mountain lol. and yeah I can speak lebanese arabic :] if I had to guess I would say its a relatively easy version of the language. I imagine you can speak mandarin, no?

I think I'd make a good teacher (especially for kids like elementary or kindergarten levels)
pity teachers get paid a pittance lol

nice nice and you remember it cool ahhh it's one those crazy mountain roads huh? I've seen them in Chinese programs and videos where it's like a curvy road up a mountain and one incorrect swerve and flop you go!!!

I used to frequent a lebonese kebab shop run by this nice lebonese family and they were speaking in some random language and one day I ask what they were speaking in and they sorta explained that it was arabic but their version of it aka lebonese arabic - what do you mean by easy version as in lebonese arabic is easier than normal arabic?

I come from the canton region of China (my birth city is two hours from Hong Kong) so I speak both Mandarin and Cantonese

Ah I see. I think I heard of this before on a show, Cantonese language I mean. Very cool that you know 2 dialects.

Lmfao lebanese kebob... delish. And yes I did mean that the dialect is of the easier variety. Because if you learn the standardized Arabic (fus-ha) you can understand Lebanese, which can't be said for the Iraqi dialect and others.
