Yup thats totally true, only difference being Korea’s strict set of rules for kpop idols. They can’t be heard cursing, seen dating, drinking, smoking, have a strict diet, etc. but yes you can idolize anyone doesn’t have to be an artist or someone famous.

An idol already means an icon, someone you idolize, like a parent for example. Kpop idols are meant to be like that, people you would like to idolize. Thats why kpop caters to the younger audience not the older ones. When kpop idols refer to themselves they call themselves “idols” usually not...
