Quite a few of my friends are like that too. Luckily I was raised by my grandparents who didn't speak a lick of English apart from "Hello", so was forced to learn how to speak it at least.

The best part is I can speak to her in Cantonese and she'll understand and reply back to me in English 🤣🤣🤣

Ouuu nice nice! That's so cool you can speak both. I try to for the most part but my hubs doesn't speak it so sometimes I have to revert to English so he understands. How about you? Do you speak with your kids in either?

With my family I speak the Taishan dialect. Outside of that mostly Cantonese. My Mandarin is only so-so.
