@Somnia no, they would not get a pass. A pass indicates that it is okay to say it again. The most important thing is learning that it is not okay to say. Sometimes we simply just don’t know or understand the histories behind them, but once we have been told it’s not okay, don’t say it.

@Chiara It’s okay - I can assume that she uses it as a reclaiming of language. It’s more problematic if a white person uses it.
