I feel like companies are more open to the idea of having lgbtq undertones, but I don’t think they’re any more open tbh
It was only a few years ago that SNH48’ MV for Uza was banned for implying a lesbian couple

Yeah they’re trying to emulate the upturned eyes, not the monolids (that’s reserved for koreaboos)
I’m no so much hurt over the makeup (though it can be interpreted as kind of problematic to some) but the whole tugging their eyes thing
yeah I’m mostly cool with the makeup itself but to the people that people have to tug on their eyes to make the look more apparent (I actually saw someone justify it that way)... go educate yourselves please
like some of it (like Bella’s look that inspired the trend) wasn’t too bad but the rest... they make me want to punch a wall and kick over a houseplant. I never faced outright bullying for my eyes, but those childhood “jokes” ... they hurt. I still have trouble accepting my eyes bcuz of it even...

As an East Asian, I don’t find the fox eye trend’s makeup to be offensive to me personally but the gesture that goes along with it?? Gosh it’s literally the most blatantly racist thing you can come up with against East Asians yet people still think asian people...
sometimes tbh, but I always try to keep those people at a distance
it's gotten a lot better now that I no longer attend the same school as most of the people from middle school
