I've only ever made one friend off of discord and that is bcs on a server I literally only was on once and made an introduction on... another estonian girl noticed I am also Estonian so she friended me and we ended up talking.

But with small servers you HAVE to have joined when the server first gets made. Bcs small servers are a lot closer and tend to have more fleshed out inside jokes etc
