I'm more surprised that it wasn't my state; bears tend to get too close to the suburbs here when there isn't any food in the wilderness. And the bear was just as scared of the principal as vice versa.
The only thing I can think of is that we're always in pain because most of us also have pale skin and sunburn easily.
