Yeah, it's rather controversial. Proponents say that it's important because it helps you to develop a wide array of skills and knowledge. I see where they're coming from but it can get annoying having to take a class, and pay for it, that has nothing to do with your intended career

Oh mine has nothing to do with Mythology either. It may be different outside the US, but we require two years of Liberal Arts and there's room for a lot of different elective choices.
