I think that's the main thing that differs groups (generally and even more so within kpop) and individuals is that for groups especially at debut that the group matters more than the individual and therefore everything is centered around the group (sometimes to the detriment of the individual)...
I think that's something one always has to keep in mind that all GROUPS (especially GG) disband or go on long hiatuses eventually
in the entire history of kpop GG less than 10 groups have had all members renew with the same company that they started with. The popular ones stay around for a tad...
