No I don't think they had an issue with the story but they kept pointing out the weird ways the writer described things and I don't think I could take the series seriously as a result.

Oh wow! I'm shocked I feel like the book gets a lot of flack for the content because people think it romanticizes everything and I didn't get that vibe at all. I'm glad to find someone else who likes the series! I hate rushed endings but let's hope it goes well and yeah I adore the writing...
