The 2024 Oscars followed a year that saw blockbusters "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" pack movie theaters around the world.

Some interesting things to me....

• Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't nominated for best actor (Killers of the Flower Moon)
• Margot Robbie wasn't nominated for best actress (Barbie), but America Ferrera and Ryan Gosling got best supporting actress/actor noms
• Similarly, Greta Gerwig wasn't nominated for best director
• Disney's Wish wasn't nominated for best animated film... or anything else
• Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny did get a nomination for best original score (which tbh, I don't really remember anything stand out about it)
• Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves wasn't nominated for anything, despite the excellent practical effects

not only were greta & margot snubbed, so were julianne moore, natalie portman, charles melton and may december overall

JUSTINE TRIET NOMINATED FOR BEST DIRECTOR OMG YES i'm not surprised margot missed out on a nomination for her acting because the lead actress category seemed more stacked than the supporting ones, she did get a nomination for producing the movie just like greta got a nomination for screenplay so they are both nominees this year anyway. i wasn't a fan of oppenheimer but it was obvious they were going to get all those nominations. also i apologise for the person i might become if lily gladstone somehow doesn't win... her performance in KOTFM was phenomenal.
