I should probably change it haha. Yeah i agree totally, tywin was a brilliant guy since he was young, serving the mad king as his hand and made the kingdom prosperous. That's one spoiler heavy title, yikes.
I don't think he'd be dumb enough to take on the dragons head-on though so there wouldn't be an all out war, but he would probably make up some other ingenious way to keep the throne. He's a calm but intelligent man, he could come up with something.
I am just sad that such a great character died while doing his business, but then again neither did i expect the red wedding to happen. He always seemed like someone who relished pulling the strings from behind more than actually sitting on the Iron Throne. He wanted his daughter Cersei to initially marry Rhaegar, when Mad King ruled Westeros and Tywin was Hand of the King. Later, when Robert Baratheon's rebellion became successful, he turned the Lannister armies against Targaryen and orchestrated the "Sack of King's Landing", and Jaime also ended up killing the Mad King. Now while Jaime killed the king to stop King's Landing from getting destroyed by wildfire, it did play into Tywin's plans, and Jaime could have actually taken the throne for himself and the Lannisters but he didn't, and sat aside until Eddard Stark arrived with his forces.
So, Tywin did the next best thing and married Cersei off to new king Robert. Again, his plans get foiled because Jaime/Cersei can't stop the incest or stay away from each other, and Jaime is still part of the Kingsguard, which forbids him from having a wife or becoming the new Lannister head, which Tywin always wanted from him.
Tywin did hatch plans to assassinate Daenerys discreetly I suppose, but again Jorah Mormont falls in love with Dany and ends up becoming her protector instead, plus nobody could have predicted 3 dragons being born. Tywin's always had good plans but somehow or the other, fate always stops him.
I've personally always been conflicted on him. He's one of my favorite characters but the Sack of King's Landing and Red Wedding make it impossible for me to root for him.
He died on a toilet tho... that was kinda weird to me... the smartest man in Westeros didn't think to maybe keep a closer eye on his son that despises him... and might be as smart as he is in actuality..That's one spoiler heavy title, yikes.

Lol I think it was poetic justice. He goes on about Tyrion sleeping with whores and how it's beneath a Lannister and then he's caught sleeping with that Shae girl himself. He was a lot of things but also a hypocrite.I am just sad that such a great character died while doing his business, but then again neither did i expect the red wedding to happen.
He always underestimated Tyrion and never thought of him as anything more than scum, which maybe why. Also Tyrion was supposed to be imprisoned and awaiting execution after Oberyn died, Tywin likely didnt foresee Jaime freeing his brother. He died on a toilet tho... that was kinda weird to me... the smartest man in Westeros didn't think to maybe keep a closer eye on his son that despises him... and might be as smart as he is in actuality..
Not sure if the show emphasised the Frey's heir issues, but in the books, heirs could be made any time the Lord, i.e. Tywin, married n sired a son.Lol I think it was poetic justice.
