Maybe she got chemical in her eyes too. Sometimes my skin either get oily or I had applied too much moisturizer too close to eyes, sometimes through the course of the day, it somehow gets into the eye and stings like crazy. It only get worst if you wipe it because then you spread it so I just try to hold it

My mom always taught me to never apply it near your eyes at all. I use a moisturizer that always makes my eyes teary the next day regardless of how far away from my eyes I applied it lol. I prefer using just a good proper OG Korean facemask tho, it keeps the skin hydrated without any issues the day after. If you use a good one it also lasts for almost a week regardless of how many times you wash your face in a day.
